Today my pastor announced that this was the 109th sermon he had preached on the series he is going through in Revelation. I have loved all of them and while I've missed a few here and there for being out of town or the kids/me being sick and I have learned a lot. Many times when I read scripture I would find myself wishing there would be someone who could come to me like what happened to the Ethiopian enuich and help me better understand. I have the Holy Spirit to do this, I supposed. But there is much I do not know in tradition or customs of the time that I would need as background info that would make it mean so much more to me.
I find myself thinking on the rapture and longing for it. I get so excited at what the future is and what John has seen. I can see myself slapping the person next to me in heaven saying "Did you just see that?" Then I thought how annoying that would be and I thought I even might miss something if I was doing that. Then I began to think how I more than likely would not act like that if I was in a court room before a judge or if I was in a court room before a king and this terrible fear (reverence) came over me I literally felt my knees almost give way but it past so quickly, and it was just an instant. It immediately made me think of everyone who encountered the presence of the Lord how it made them fall on their faces as dead and so ulimately I think I will just keep my mouth shut, (if I can). Kind of reminds me of Mercy Me's "I can only imagine."
